The name "Air Italy" was used twice. A company named Air Italy flew from 2005 to 2018, it started as an independant corporation until it was bought by Meridiana in 2011. It operated under the Meridiana brand until 2017 when Qatar Airways became the major shareholder.

 Qatar Airways decided to restart Meridiana under the name Air Italy in 2018, providing modern planes to the airline, but it still went bankrupt in 2020.
