Air Malawi lines was the state-owned national airline of Malawi. It was created in 1964 when CAA (Central African Airways) split into 3 national airlines. It went into financial turmoil in the 2000s, and ceased operations in 2013. Ethiopian Airlines acquired a 49% stake in the company and restarted it as Malawi Airlines.
